Pre-production: Who's the Cast and Crew?

 Introduction:

In the movie, Ashley Swift plays as Jessica (main Character), Zaniah Simons as Lilith (best friend and villain),  Aliyah McFalane as Bianca (Mean Girl 1), Dezariah walker as Rose(mean girl 2), and Kirra as Katie (mean girl 3). Me and my teammate choose to use actors and some of our friends to help us with our movie instead of acting in it ourselves. We felt not only would it be better to stay behind the camera so we can see what the audience would see but to also better direct the actors, not to mention were both camera shy. For our crew since I only have one other teammate on my team we decied to split the work by what were good my teammate was the camera man, camera operator, editor and production manager. While I was the Director, casting director, film writer and screen writer

Pre-production: Defining setting

 Introduction:

What is setting you ask? I'm glad to tell you, setting is the place or type of surrounding where something is positioned or where an event takes place.  In our movie we use one location- our school and just moved to different areas to make it seem like its multiple locations. The different areas we went was outside by the car loop for the woods/dead body scene, school entrances is well the school entrance, the mean girls walk was inside near our main office, and Jessica waking up is in our auditorium on the floor. We had a total of five scenes.

Introduction:

My teammate jumped at the chance to choose and edit our score for us, I helped him choose and pick the tone of which the music has to be/ represent. Within this exercise I got to understand how different music genres clash and merge with movie genre and how we both have specific music tastes that also matches our movie genre and some of its scenes, so we used some of the songs in our playlists as well as searching online for stereotypical "horror" and "thriller" music that people would usually hear in these times of money. to make the score. He made the score in order of appreance and I added and put the music in order of where they should be in the movie.

 Introduction: 

Shirioi yuri is Japanese's and it translates to white lily in English. White lily” usually means love, purity, and innocence but it can also mean rebirth, death, and majesty. So, when i chose “white lily” to be included in our logo as well as company name i knew i wanted our company to embody the “hidden meaning” most people don’t know about since our movie is a thriller. The colors were chosen because we wanted an ominous, suspense-filled feeling, a dark background then bright glowing letters to bring attention to the name. Not to mention it's also very appealing with a very bold contrast. The studio part is from my teammate who wanted to combine the words " media studies" and production to get studion.

 Introduction:

The way I thought of our production company logo was pretty simple. Like I stated before we had the same idea for our movie so it was easy to get on the same page but the one problem we had was we couldn't fully decided on a new name together. whenever one or the other thinks of a new production name and or logo, the other shuts it down almost immediately. So instead of compromising and having one happy and the other unheard, we decided to combine our own logos into one epic one. This way were both happy, feel heard, and show our visons

Pre- production: Group Responsibility

 Introduction:

Today in this post I will be showing how myself and my partner divided up our work load when we started planning out our movie. We had to think about our skills and compare them to one another to see who would be a better fit for the position, how much time we have to do it (well), our understanding and knowledge of the work were doing. For example if one of us is better at lighting compared to the other, that person would have to take care of lighting for the better of the group.
