Preliminary Exercise 4: Analyzing Mise en scene

Introduction:

The movie/Tv opening I did my graph on is a fantasy teen drama from Disney (and other Disney products) called Descendants. Its a fictional show that has elements of supernatural powers and Disney history behind it. The movie is about the " descendants" of all fairytale icons and how they live, but specifically the four main villain kids, Jay the son of Jafar, Carlos the son of crulle de vile, Evie the daughter of the evil queen and mal the daughter of Malenfant who are given the chance to live among the royals and their kids. Its funny suspenseful and family-friendly for kids to watch. I feel the director was trying to communicate that you don't have to follow in your parents footsteps and you are your own person.

not everything is what you thing it is. I think this because while you watch the opening, you think you see some foreshadowing of who the monster is, but you get something completely different

Their parents gave them a secret plan to open the border where the villains live, but they slowly turned good over time and have to stop their parents from coming over.

Definition: The process of creating the actual location where an event is performed such as a set. All of the theatrical props for a production are made, purchased, or found by the designer.
	Set-design (décor and props) The set design is run-down buildings while having props as big as the gate to climb on and having handheld props.
	Message: These two objects are very important and must be keep under strict watch, so no one miss uses it.
	Atmosphere/mood of the opening sequence: sad because you see and realize how some of these kids grew up, there being punished for something they never did

Hair:  for the boys there all brushed down and for the girls their hair is curled while uma’s is braid in a bun
Make-up: concealer, mascara, lipstick, blush and nail polish.

Lighting
It is used to set the tone of a scene before any of the actors have even uttered a word. Such as adjusting the lighting to dim during an intimate scene.
	The lighting is bright since its sunlight (natural lighting)
	Message: convey that they are happy and thankfully to still be alive after the big fight and that they both came out unharmed
	Atmosphere/mood of the opening sequence: Happy, thankfully and relieved

Definition: It is used to set the tone of a scene by utilizing the vibrant iconography of their outfits, and makeup, etc. before any of the actors have even uttered a word.
